Speaker: Dr. SHIGEO OGAWA, Senior Research Engineer of NTT, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation

transcript

OKOBA: Today's guest speaker is Dr. Shigeo Ogawa who is a Senior Research Engineer of NTT, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation and the coauthor of the forthcoming book: Hydrogen Civilization. He has studied Silicon Dioxide Reliability Technology for years and now he is studying on Fuel Cell Technology.

Nice to see you Dr.Shige Ogawa. Thank you for comming to our podcast.

OGAWA: Nice to see you Mr.Okoba. It's an honor to be invited to your radio.

OKOBA: Today's topic is about your book "Hydrogen Civilization". Please can you briefly introduce your book? What is "Hydrogen Civilization"?

OGAWA: "Hydrogen Civilization" offers a strategy for shifting our civlization to sustainable, clean, smart one by utilizing technologies.

OKOBA: Why did you write the book?

OGAWA: The reason why I wrote this book is because the world is facing severe hardships, such as food shortage in Somali, water shortage in midcontinent China, electricity shortages and radioactive contamination in Japan after Fukushima nuclear disaster.

These adversities are caused by the nature of the structure of our civilization. It is not effective nor smart, we believe we can shift our civilization to much smarter one.

Historically, human-beings have been facing these kinds of hurdles and overcame them every time. A pile of technologies and a pile of wisdomes made it possible.

OKOBA: Looking at our civilization that way, what can we do?

OGAWA: In "Hydorogen Civilization", we lay out the practical solutions for growing problems with climate change, resource depletion and spreading pollutions.

We hope to share our visions with the readers and let's take actions to get over massive global difficulties.

OKOBA: I have been speaking with Dr. Shigeo Ogawa, a Senior Research Engineer at NTT Laboratories. For cyberuls.com I am Tsutomu OKOBA.

The Cause of Warming ; Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide dissolves in water comparatively well, and a water solution (carbonic acid) shows subacidity. Combustion of oil, coal and wood, breathing of the animals and plants, the resolution of organic matter by microbes and volcanic activities emit carbon dioxide in large quantities.
On the other hand, it is fixed by photosynthesis of plants as various organic compounds. Its concentration is about 370ppm (0.037%) at the end of the current atmosphere, but it is estimated that it was about 280ppm (0.028%) before the Industrial Revolution according to an analysis of ice cores.
The cause of the density increase is regarded as mass consumption of fossil fuel. Carbon dioxide has greenhouse effect, because it absorbs strongly in the infrared.
The effect is smaller than methane or chlorofluolocarbon, but carbon dioxide is the greatest cause of global warming because of huge emission.

Hurricane Katrina - Hydrozation Broadcasting!

Hurricane Katrina

Global warming has increased the number and the intensity of hurricane. The most impressive in these days is Hurricane Katrina that attacked Florida, the USA.
Katrina attacked Southeast USA at the end of August 2005. It was Category 5 of Simpson scale at the strongest and Category 3
when it landed the State of Louisiana.
The maximum wind velocity: 78 m/s, minimum atmospheric pressure: 902hPa, total damage: 1100-2800 billion yen

France Heat Wave - Hien Plus Broadcasting

Today, I read about the France Heat Wave, that next chapter the global warming.
A heat wave attacks Europe.
Originally France is not particularly cold in Europe. The highest temperature is around 23 degrees in the summer generally, and many houses are not equipped with air conditioners. Because a heat wave attacks such a region almost every year these days, it causes a big damage.

Hi, how's going?

Today,  I have a thick book here  and I am going to read the book which wrote about the hydrogen civilization. However, before I'm going to talk about that, I want to talk about the global warming. so from now I will start to read the book on this radio broadcasting. So please keep listen this program.
